WHY I STOPPED MAKING THE BONJOVIBUCKETLIST FOR AWHILE…
In response to some questions you’ve sent me I will answer by saying that in the past, a few Bonjovifans and I had a difference of opinion on the “Bonjovibucketlist.” Some not so friendly words were exchanged about the content. Some people felt that some of the posts were a little too sexual and suggestive. They felt that I (actually we, because you send me requests…) had gone over the line and that my posts were sexually objectifying The Boys. Good Jovi! I of course defended my blog but the nastiness of the whole thing made me lose the passion I had once had for it. I couldn’t believe that Bon Jovi Fans would distort where it was coming from and misconstrue the meaning of the blog. It is a lot of work to run one of these blogs because you are accepting other people’s requests and trying to make posts for them. Somedays I would have 4 or 5 requests and I worked hard at getting them made to hopefully make someone smile.
From the start this was just supposed to be a fun little blog of Bon Jovi Wishes. Not to be taken so seriously! When did everyone get soooooooooooo serious?
I kept posting for awhile but the heart of the “Bonjovibucketlist” had grown cold for me. I felt I had to be careful what I blogged and I had to make the decision not to blog requests if I thought they would offend anyone and finally I just stopped posting…I was sad but I moved on.
Let me stress, this problem has long since been resolved. The parties involved have now left Tumblr a/o are incognito on a new blog and the one still on Tumblr I consider a friend so I beg everyone not to send her any hate or nasty messages. It was a misunderstanding and is no longer in any way an issue.
Recently, BalladofSambora started “Thebonjovirules,” and I was very excited about it for her. She had contacted me and we’d talked and I tried to give her some advice to avoid the same pitfalls I had run into.
Her passion and love for Bon Jovi helped to restore my interest in my own “Bonjovibucketlist.” I decided, I was not going to let other people decide for me if this blog was worthwhile or not. So here WE are again!
